Jesus.

Who is Jesus? It would be fair to say Jesus is one of the most significant and influential figures in all of human history. Not only have countless books, songs, research and popular media references have been made over him, it’s near impossible to deny the impact he’s had in our world. Actually no one in history has had the same kind of lasting and far-reaching impact as Jesus and there’s reason for that. So we’d love to pose that the answer to this question is important.

Born over two thousand years ago in the city of Bethlehem, His claims were pretty remarkable. Jesus claimed to be the saviour of the world. He claimed to have come to seek and save the lost. He claimed to have come into the world to give life and life abundantly. He claimed that He is the way, the truth and the life and that it is only through him people can be restored into a living relationship with God. He also claimed that He is the judge of the living and the dead, and that His death is the key to our life! And as dramatic as these claims are they received incredible support when Jesus rose from the dead.

Jesus is the most significant figure in all history. And if the claims made about him are true, it will have a massive impact on our lives today… and for eternity. So we love creating opportunities for people to ask questions, investigate and see if this whole Jesus thing is legit. We want to invite everyone to come to church to find out more about Him or to come along to one of our ‘Taste & See’ events that unpacks the timeless message of Jesus through good food, good company and good conversation.

Either way all are welcomed!

Exploring the heart of the Christian message of hope over delicious meals.

If you have questions, queries and thoughts about Jesus and Christianity, or have ever wondered what the message of the Bible is all about? Then ‘Taste & See’ is a great opportunity for you.

A song in the bible has this beautiful line:“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” (Psalm 34:8) And ‘Taste & See’ tries to take its cue from this concept. The ‘Taste & See’ course runs over two sessions where delicious food is served and where each meal helps communicate the timeless message of Jesus. The sessions are really relaxed, the atmosphere warm and welcoming as we try to create a context for someone to listen, learn, investigate and discuss things.

We know time is precious so we like to make an effort to treat anyone who comes as something precious. We run this course over a few times in the year. If you’re interested or would like to have more information about ‘Taste & See’ or Valley Church then we encourage you to fill in the form below.
