Each week we open the Bible, hear a talk, pray, sing, spend time in community, and hear stories from people of how Jesus has changed their lives. Our church services are not like a club or an event. We’re a community of ordinary, imperfect people who gather around the Bible’s message about Jesus. Our meetings are open to everyone — whether you’re full of questions, brand new to Christianity, finding your way back to church, or been a believer for as long as you remember.

What do I wear?

Dress in what you feel is comfortable. Talk like you would at home. We really want you to forget about what other people think and simply engage with God’s word in the Bible.

Where do I park?

There is plenty of parking and two main places you can park. We recommend you park through the Ripley Valley State Secondary College main entrance, accessed through Parkway Avenue, there will be plenty of signs you can follow. Otherwise you can also park around at the RVSSC Raptordome carpark, which is located on the corner of Parkway Avenue & Botany Drive. This contains a double story carpark. Either way there should be plenty of spaces.

What do I do when I get there?

As you walk towards the venue, RVSSC Performing Arts Centre, there will usually be a few friendly faces at the door who will say hello and let you know you’re in the right place!

There’s usually time to grab a free coffee or some light refreshments before the meeting starts. When the meeting starts, feel free to sit anywhere you feel comfortable. There is no assigned seating.

What happens during the service?

During the service each week, we typically open the Bible, hear a 25-35 minute talk, pray, sing songs about Jesus, and hear stories from people of how Jesus has changed their lives.

If you don’t have a bible to read along, that’s completely fine! Feel free to just listen, or you can follow along using an online Bible (like this one!)

What about kids and youth?

We love having kids and youth at our church! During the school term we run three programs during the service which are all aimed at partnering with families in helping their kids know Jesus and live for Him. We have Little Valley Kids (3-6yrs/Prep), Valley Kids (Grades 1-6) and V-Squad (Grades 7-9).

We take child safety seriously and make sure all our staff and volunteers have had legal checks and safe ministry training required. So feel free to sign into our Sunday service kids programs.

What if I have questions or don’t believe?

We absolutely love having people from all walks of life which includes people who are unsure, investigating, doubting or don’t believe. It’s actually a great place to be if you’re wanting to know more. Also during the service people are encouraged to send in questions where we try to engage with and wrestle with those questions during our time together.

Do I have to participate?

The beauty of this community is that we want people to knowingly and willingly participate in what we’re doing which means if you’re unsure or you feel uncomfortable there is no expectation that you have to participate. And though our hope is that you will one day want to be involved and participate we are extremely sympathetic and aware of those who may not be there yet.

How long does it go for?

Our services usually go between hour to an hour and a half. And at the end of the service we’d love for you to stick around and meet some people. Folks will usually hang around and chat with each other for a little while after the meeting.

It’s not necessary to let us know you’re coming, but if it helps or you have any questions, please send us a message we’d love to hear from you…
